Oral surgery in Chiang Mai
Surgical treatments at Kitcha Dental Clinic are planned with X-rays or a CBCT scan and carried out by dentists with postgraduate training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are available for suitable cases.

Surgical treatments
Tooth extraction
Simple and surgical removal of teeth that cannot be saved.
Wisdom tooth removal
Removing impacted or partly erupted wisdom teeth.
Implant and bone graft surgery
Placing implants, and building up bone or lifting the sinus floor when there is not enough bone.
Minor oral surgery
Draining an abscess, removing a small cyst, taking a tissue sample for testing, and frenectomy.
Jaw surgery with braces
For patients having orthodontic treatment with us; the surgery itself takes place in a hospital.
Planning and safety
Before surgery your medical history and medicines are checked, and X-rays or a CBCT scan show the roots, nerves and sinus. On the day, the surgical site is confirmed with you and instruments are checked before and after the procedure. The clinic holds TDCA 2403 Level 3 accreditation.
Treatments that need general anesthesia or a hospital setting are referred to a hospital and arranged with you in advance.
If radiation worries you: at our clinic, X-rays inside the mouth are digital, taken with phosphor plates and sensors that help lower the dose compared with film. Our Planmeca ProMax CBCT has an Ultra Low Dose mode, your dentist chooses the mode that suits each case, and X-rays are taken only when they are needed.

What happens, and how many visits
Consultation and imaging
Your dentist explains the diagnosis, options, benefits and risks, and takes the X-rays or CBCT scan needed to plan.
Surgery
Done under local anesthesia, with sedation for suitable cases. If sedation is used, you stay until you are fully alert.
Check visit
Usually about 7–10 days later, to check healing and remove any stitches.
Most people can travel 2–3 days after an extraction or implant surgery; your dentist confirms this for your case.
Cost of oral surgery
Surgical fees depend on the procedure and how complex it is, and are listed on our prices page. X-rays, sedation and medicines are charged separately, only if you need them. Your dentist confirms the fee before treatment.
Prices on our prices page are shown as ranges. Your final fee depends on what the examination finds, and may include additional items — such as a rubber dam or special materials — when your treatment needs them. Your dentist explains these before treatment.

Oral surgery is carried out by dentists with postgraduate training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, including a Master's degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Prince of Songkla University.
Oral surgery FAQs
Will I be asleep during surgery?
Most oral surgery at the clinic is done under local anesthesia, so you are awake but the area is numb. Nitrous oxide or oral sedation can help you feel more relaxed in suitable cases. Treatments that need general anesthesia are arranged in a hospital.
How long is the recovery after oral surgery?
It depends on the procedure. Swelling and soreness usually ease after a few days, and stitches are removed at a check visit about 7–10 days later. Your dentist gives you written aftercare instructions.
Can I fly after oral surgery?
Most people can travel 2–3 days after an extraction or implant surgery; your dentist confirms this for your case. Tell us your travel dates when you book.
Do I need to stop my medicines before surgery?
Do not stop any medicine on your own. Tell your dentist about everything you take, especially blood thinners, and your dentist advises you, consulting your doctor when needed.
Is jaw surgery done at the clinic?
Jaw surgery is offered for patients who have their orthodontic treatment with us. Our orthodontists plan it with a maxillofacial surgery consultant, the surgery takes place in a hospital, and the orthodontic treatment before and after is done at the clinic.
How much does oral surgery cost?
It depends on the procedure and how complex it is. Prices are on our prices page, and your dentist confirms the fee after the examination and X-rays.
