Are veneers right for you?
- Your front teeth are discolored, including stains that whitening cannot lift.
- Your front teeth are chipped, worn or slightly uneven in shape or size.

Porcelain or composite veneers
Porcelain veneers (IPS e.max, Empress)
Made in our ISO-certified partner laboratory. They tend to resist staining and keep their surface well, and usually need a thin layer of enamel to be removed.
Composite veneers
Built up directly on the tooth, or made indirectly. They cost less and are easier to repair, but stain and wear more over time than porcelain.

Plan your smile first
Before any tooth is prepared, your dentist takes photos and a digital scan of your teeth and designs the proposed smile with Digital Smile Design. When it helps, a wax-up model shows the planned shape on a copy of your teeth. You can discuss the shape, length and shade and agree on the plan before treatment starts.
Gum shaping is sometimes planned before veneers so the teeth look balanced; when it is, the gum dentist and the restorative dentist plan it together.
We keep tooth preparation as minimal as possible. Porcelain veneers usually need a thin layer of enamel to be removed so they look natural and are not bulky, and this cannot be reversed. Consultation and smile design
Examination, X-rays if needed, photos, a digital scan and your Digital Smile Design.
Tooth preparation
In some cases this can be done at the same visit as the consultation. The teeth are prepared, an impression or scan is taken, and temporary veneers are placed.
Laboratory work
Porcelain veneers are made in our ISO-certified partner laboratory. How long this takes depends on your case.
Try-in and bonding
The veneers are placed temporarily so you can check the shade, shape and fit together, adjusted if needed, and then bonded. Your bite is checked at the end.
Once veneers are bonded they cannot easily be changed, so raise any adjustments before the final bonding. If you are traveling, tell us your dates when you book, and your dentist plans the visits around your stay.
Cost of veneers
Porcelain veneers are priced per tooth, with a higher price for advanced cases, and composite veneers cost less. Digital Smile Design is a separate planning fee. Full payment for veneers is due on the day of preparation or impression.
Laboratory-made veneers have a 1-year warranty on the restoration, terms apply. It is used at our clinic in Chiang Mai, covers work done at the clinic, and does not include travel, accommodation or treatment provided elsewhere.
Prices on our prices page are shown as ranges. Your final fee depends on what the examination finds, and may include additional items — such as a rubber dam or special materials — when your treatment needs them. Your dentist explains these before treatment.
Replacing old veneers
If you have old veneers or crowns that need replacing, they can be removed with the help of our Waterlase dental laser when your dentist finds it suitable, before new ones are made.

How long do veneers take?
It depends on your case. Porcelain veneers are made in our ISO-certified partner laboratory, so they need more than one visit; in some cases the consultation and tooth preparation can be done at the same visit. Often, yes. Veneers are matched to the teeth around them, and whitening does not change the color of veneers afterwards. If you plan to whiten, your dentist usually does it before choosing the veneer shade.

It depends on how many teeth show when you smile and what you want to change. Some people need one or two; others choose veneers across the front teeth that show in their smile. Your dentist suggests a number during smile design.
