Crown and Bridge

Crowns

When a tooth is compromised by decay or damage, we may suggest a crown.

This restoration, made in a lab from fine dental porcelain, will blend seamlessly with your teeth, return the strength that you need for comfortable oral function, and maintain your smile.

Typically, we can design, fit, and place your crowns in just a couple of short appointments. Once a crown is placed, you can care for it as you do your natural teeth. Be sure to see us every six months for professional cleanings and a preventive exam.

Bridges

Dental bridge is a prosthetic tooth (or teeth) that attaches on one or both sides to teeth prepared with dental crowns.

If you’ve lost teeth due to accident, injury, or gum disease, we can create a permanent bridge to restore your solid smile.

A bridge not only fills the gap, but it also prevents repositioning of remaining teeth. It can also correct a misaligned bite, improve chewing function and speech articulation, and provide internal structure for the face to give you a more youthful appearance.

With proper care, a fixed bridge may last at least 8 to 10 years.

How long do Crowns and Bridges Last?

Crowns and bridges can last a lifetime. However, they might come loose or even come off. One effective way to ensure that your crown or bridge last long is to practice good oral hygiene.
Bridges may come loose if the teeth or bone that is holding it in place is damaged. Keeping your gums and teeth healthy through regular brushing and flossing will prevent this from happening. Also, do visit the dentist regularly to have it professionally cleaned and checked up.
